Leptien, Edward "Ed" James, Sr.

Age 83 of Maplewood, MN, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday March 16, 2023.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia (née Brown); son, Edward, Jr. (Debra); daughters, Kellie (John) Sward, Deanne Bednar (Bob Arentz); sister, Margaret Coleman; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by his daughter, Jody (James) Meerschaert; loving foster parents, William and Mable Cunningham; foster siblings, William (Rita) Cunningham, Jr., Shirley (John) Singewald, and Richard "Dick" (Jean) O'Regan; sister, Patricia Alma Lichtenberg; and birth parents.

His love for riding motorcycles was enjoyed right into his 80's, and he was always ready for a new movie. Ed and wife Pat loved visits to the casino, especially the peaceful long drives listening to their favorite music. Ed also enjoyed working with customers at Fred's Tire, exchanging stories with laughter and smiles.

A Celebration of Ed's Life will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 4 PM - 7 PM at Sandberg Mortuary, 2593 E. 7th Ave., N. St. Paul, MN.
